Description:Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Establish cost accounting policies and procedures to arrive at accurate standards for inventory valuationAssist the Regional Controller in the financial management Assist in implementation of new ERP solutionEnsure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
Assist the Regional Controller in the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting requirements.
Supports budget and forecasting activities.
Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Responds to inquiries from the Regional Controller and Corporate managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
Work with the Regional Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Support Regional Controller with special projects and workflow process improvementsAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or other related discipline required5+ years experience as a plant accounting or cost/management accountant for a manufacturing company requiredExtensive knowledge of financial and accounting principles, procedures, and techniques as well as sound knowledge of standard cost accounting procedures systems.Good managerial, planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
