The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. As a part of the leadership team, you will lead the generation of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, challenge the status quo, and foster creativity throughout your area of responsibility. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Anaheim, California region.

What you get to do every single day

– Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

– Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

– Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

– Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

– Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

– Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

– Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

– Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

– Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

– Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Job Requirements:
– Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

– Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

– Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

– Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

– Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

– Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

– Microsoft Excel experience

– Inventory analysis experience

– Proven knowledge of Internal Control

– Well-founded grasp of Monthly Financial Close

– Inventory controls experience

– Proficiency in Annual External Audit

– Knowledge of general ledger

– Prior work done in public accounting is desired

– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

– Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

– Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

– Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
