10x Genomics
10x is seeking a full-stack engineer to help develop a suite of internal web applications to accelerate research and development efforts.
Candidates hired for this position will be routinely interacting with computational biologists, scientists, and manufacturing team to create tools to track vital experimental information, automate quality control processes, and generate critical reports.
These tools will primarily be single-page React applications on top of cloud-hosted services and databases, but there may be a need for other services as well.
As 10xs product lines mature and evolve, candidates in this position will be exposed to a variety of new technologies and asked to develop new tools to support our cutting-edge R&D efforts.
Key Responsibilities Make substantive changes to internal web tools across the stack, from cloud deployment to UI changes.
Develop single-page React applications, as well as service APIs to serve and display experimental data.
Work with computational biologists and R&D leads to spec out new tools and features.
Deploy and monitor internal applications.
Desired Skills And Background 4 years shipping software.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
Significant experience writing application-level logic within the web stack, such as Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, Go, Python, Node/Express, etc.
Front-end development experience using modern web technologies (React, Vue, Polymer, Angular, etc.) a plus.
Hands-on experience writing applications in Go is a significant plus.
Hands-on experience with RDBMS systems like Postgres/MySQL is a significant plus.
Experience deploying applications to the cloud a plus.
Background in biology and DNA sequencing is not required.
Interest in the field is.
