Shipping/Inventory Clerk

A Day in the Life of a Inventory Control Clerk

· Customer Shipments – Reviews pick list daily to determine timing for customer shipments; pulls parts from inventory based on due dates to ship to customers for on-time delivery; verifies physical quantity of parts against paperwork and completes shipping checklist paperwork; makes entry in MRP program to account for the movement of parts within the system; physically moves parts to Shipping & Receiving to ship product to customers.

· Inventory – Reviews pick list daily to determine if finished parts are to be stored in stock inventory; physically moves parts from Shipping & Receiving to Inventory Control area to move parts to stock inventory; assigns parts to proper inventory locations within the system; ensures all stock parts are properly packaged, preserved, and labeled by shipping and receiving.

· Job Cost Detail – Performs job cost detail process with finished paperwork; assigns parts to stock, to shipping, or a combination of both, via shipping checklists.

· Assemblies
– Pulls subcomponents from stock inventory for assembly as needed; enters customer supplied materials into MRP program in order to issue with stock parts for assembly when necessary; moves subcomponent parts in the system in order to generate paperwork for assembly operation(s).

· Customer Rejections
– Assigns “containment” status to parts returned for customer rejections as directed by quality or engineering.

· Finished Goods Audit – Performs finished goods audit annually; ensures accuracy of quantities and locations, both physically and in MRP system.

· Communication – Communicates with customer service, production, and other departments to align actions for customer shipments, movement of parts, and inventory accuracy within internal MRP system; communicates with manager to discuss job priorities, provide status updates, and raise concerns, questions, resource needs, etc.; participates in daily stand-up by raising concerns or turnbacks and sharing continuous improvement ideas; shares pertinent information with other team members and departments, as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

· An ideal team player mindset: people smarts, humility and drive.

· 2-3 years in an administrative role.

Experience in distribution, shipping, logistics or manufacturing a plus.

· Proficient in Microsoft programs.

· High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

· Strong interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to retain customer specific information.

The Extra Benefits

This position operates every Monday through Friday, from 7:00a.m.

to 4:30p.m.

with occasional Saturdays.
