The reliability and effectiveness of thousands of Aethercomm products has been tested and proven in combat, helping to protect and save the lives of our warfighters.Aethercomm is looking to fill a Senior RF Test Technician position.Scope: The purpose of this procedure is to establish and define the functional role, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and measurements of performance of the Senior RF Test Technician at Aethercomm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.A thorough understanding and be able to demonstrate all of the RF and DC testing that is completed in support of production hardware.The candidate shall have relevant experience in running test program and performing system maintenance as required.Familiar with running test programs developed from the following development platforms: LabView, C++ and VB.Capable of configuring test equipment and complex test setups.Set-up and calibrate test benches per documented procedure, specification and standard customer requirements.Execute RF tests per documented procedure.Utilize paper or electronic formats to maintain required process logs, records and reports in accordance with policies and procedures.Use internal policies and procedures to tear-down and set-up for the next scheduled test as required.Initiate rework procedures or instructions during the RF test troubleshooting stage to correct out of tolerance RF measurements.Initiate and sustain process improvement activities to increase process efficiency and reduce risks to hardware or data quality.Execute equipment and system calibrations activities.My also responsible be required to support prototype and development RF testing.

Responsibilities include:Conduct tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data; and perform mathematical calculations.May be required to read and document schematic diagrams.Troubleshoot circuits to the component level.Must be able to read drawings and BOM’s and be able to perform basic SMT soldering for repairs.Experience with testing high power devices a plus.A thorough understanding and be able to demonstrate proper tuning techniques, including tuning with tabs and lumped elements in high power RF amplifiers.A thorough understanding and is able to demonstrate efficient and effective troubleshooting techniques.Need to have a thorough understanding and be able to demonstrate the use and proper calibration of the test equipment that is used in support of testing high power RF amplifiers, including but not limited to: Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters and Signal Generators.Assist in providing guidance and training to other test personnel on an “as required basis.”Be able to clearly communicate and interact with the Responsible Engineers and the necessary production and manufacturing personnel to resolve production-related issues within the program.Understand the program hardware flow (Steps) and role within that flow to better coordinate overall program test effort with the scheduled time allotment.Ensure all program documentation and test data records are complete and accurate and provided on a timely basis for review.Ensure the test tasks assigned are done in the most efficient and effective manner.Maintain close security and protect the company’s assets from damage, including test equipment and tools.Ensure that the Quality Control functions are properly performed such as ESD precautions, Used-On Log and Equipment Calibration.Ensure to apply and follow all Operations Safety Procedures at all times; includes highlighting and raising concern to the appropriate personnel if safety hazards are found.Ensure that the policies and practices of the Employee Handbook are followed within the department.Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.Check email regularly and respond appropriately.All other duties assigned.Competencies:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school preferred; or five to ten years related experience in RF field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:Ability to prepare written reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes.

Be able to clearly communicate and interact with the responsible engineers and the necessary production and manufacturing personnel to resolve production related issues within the program.

Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills:Proficiency with Computer and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Software, and Epicor.
