Assistant Buyer – Men’s

This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted April 1, 2021.

OverviewUnder general supervision, assist the Buyer in managing all aspects of the business classification in order to drive results that meet or exceed the planned financial and qualitative goals.

This position is responsible for maintaining all systems, managing the receipt flow, building partnerships among the department and all internal and external partners.

The Assistant Buyer will perform business analysis and recommend courses of action to be taken in order to reconcile actual performance to plan.

The Assistant Buyer will present in open forums and provide value added comments.Responsibilities* Assist/partner with Buyer in analyzing, merchandising, and communicating decisions tosuccessfully affect the department’s business.* Cross-functional team leadership: present ideas and influence the cross-functional team in majormilestone meetings to drive assortment deviations for product categories.* Business analysis: rank the line weekly and make observations, analyze and driverecommendations for change for assigned category.* Assorting a line: review/analyze the assortment and drive appropriate changes.* Work closely with Design team to interpret and forecast trends for assigned areas.* Assist in the development of the broader assortment mix.* Analyze performance and plans to look for sales and margin opportunities that can exceed planfor assigned areas.* Responsible for all steps of data entry and ensuring PO’s are accurately entered into the systemand communicated to vendors in a timely manner.* Responsible for organization and management of samples in support of milestone meetings andproduct assorting.* Quickly adapt to changes/trends occurring in the business and in the marketplace.* Pass buy information for PO entry data entry, approval all PO’s for areas of responsibility.* Communicate price actions for entry into Price System.* Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain anddemonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonableaccommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:* Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and/or equivalent work experience required* 1+ years of buying experience within retail environment* Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint* Pro-active in every aspect of work (i.e.

forward thinking, ability to anticipate, driven to get tasksaccomplished)* Ability to communicate ideas, issues, opportunities, etc.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job.* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.

Theassociate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well asreach with hands and arms.* The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or moveup to 35 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,depth perception and ability to adjust focus.* Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.* Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.* Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates onmultiple floors throughout building.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.

As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may berequired during periods of high volume.
