Facility Engineer II

Performs complex maintenance and repair services of the hospital’s physical plant; equipment, buildings and properties. Duties may include one or more of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, paint or HVAC. Operates and maintains stationary gas and oil fired boilers and auxiliaries in supplying hot water and steam for other power generating purposes.Must have minimum of five year’s experience in construction, carpentry, plumbing, painting, or HVAC.Must have demonstrated experience, proficiency, and expertise (or license) in one or more of the above areas.Working knowledge in various mechanical hand held tools required in the performance of the trade.Working knowledge of power equipment, drills, saws, pneumatic tools, compressor, airless sprays.Working knowledge of pumps and pumping system.Working knowledge of scaffolding and ladders.Working knowledge of trucks and forklifts.Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate effectivelyPrevious experience within the healthcare industry preferredBasic computer skills preferred.Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers and associates in a way that exhibits superior integrated customer service and teamworkExcellent listening and verbal communication skillsAbility to exercise tact and diplomacy while directing co-workersAbility to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficientlyExcellent organization and problem solving skillsAbility to work within defined time constraintsAbility to take initiative and follow throughBilingual in Spanish a plus
