Ensures a quality product by inspecting product to ensure conformance to customer requirements and closely working with production. Apply quality principles in all areas of responsibilities. Maintains and improves product quality by ensuring compliance, collaborating and communication with other members to manufacture quality products and necessary provides training to include production.
Provides leadership in maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the plant.
Achieves Quality Assurance operational and ISO objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Assists by identifying critical control points and preventive measures; monitoring and verification of quality.
Able to identify product defects and decide on product quality.
Completes CQV, First Articles, Process Changes, and Line clearance activity in a timely manner and based on set priority.
Work with other members in reducing hold ware quantity.
Active participation in root cause and corrective action from CIOs and NCMR findings.
Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization and know product drawing specifications and tolerances.
Must meet production output requirements in a timely manner.
Prepares department required documentation and reports.
Assist in maintaining lab equipment and adjusting equipment as needed.
Able to use, program and troubleshoot all Quality Inspection equipment including calipers, Magna Mike, spectrophotometer, VBG and vacuum chambers.
Actively participates in teams, ISO 9001, Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma and 5s opportunities.
Understands and effectively uses AQL sampling.
Promotes and ensures compliance with safety policies, practices and regulations. Keeps abreast of any changes to safety requirements
To perform this job successfully, the applicable candidate must be a team player and able to make decisions under pressure with a cross functional team of individuals and be flexible to work with all shifts. The additional requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, quality and procedures. Ability to speak and write in English, routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers and auditors. Effective communication with team members.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs, data and AQLs
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Analyzing information and process improvement is a must as well as attention to detail. Must be able to identify and determine product quality and defects.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of software and QSI as well as other quality related and business productivity software such as Lotus Notes, JD Edwards, Minitab or related software.
