| Job Description :This position will support the DeKalb County Operations by providing Advance Level Support to the EMS System.

The purpose of the QRV Medic Program will be responsible to respond to low acuity calls, reduce response times, enhance advance life support capabilities, and offer alternative means of transportation or treatment facilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Respond to medical emergencies and provide necessary and essential lifesaving interventions within the DeKalb County EMS Protocols.

Advanced and basic emergency care shall be provided to anyone injured or experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency.Interpret correctly and adhere to all clinical standards.Coordinate patient care with the Nurse Navigation Line to determine alternate means of transportation to medical facility.A NNL assessment may result in a patient staying home for self-care, being referred to a community clinic, or being transported to an emergency department, as ultimately determined by the NNL nurse.

To rule out the need for ALS treatment and transport and determine whether the patient is eligible for referral to the NNL.

To provide an assessment to determine if patient requires EMS transport to medical facility.

If so, determine if BLS or ALS level is needed.Maintain communication with DeKalb County Communication Center and AMR Supervisors.To respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents as directed by DeKalb County Communication Center and/or AMR Supervision.

Earns positive feedback from patients and healthcare professionals.Must demonstrate professional and personal skills sufficient to properly deal with difficult patients.

Perform other duties as assigned by AMR leadership.SKILLS & ABILITIES:Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with Nurse Navigation Program.Proficiency with GMR/AMR MEDS Reporting SystemAbility to read and interpret general medical documents, policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Ability to write medical reports and meet documentation requirements of the job.

Ability to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions from patients, external customers, employees and the public.Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum two years (2) Paramedic experience within a 911 system.Minimum of four years (4) as EMT-A/I within a 911 system.Current State of Georgia Paramedic or EMT-A/I license.

Current ACLS, CPR certification Must not have a Final Written Corrective Action within 12-month period.WORKING CONDITIONS:Frequently works alone, with and around others, face to face and verbal contact, and indoor and outdoor temperature changes.Works in various conditions, requires working under stressful conditions to meet patient needs, and to make quick decisions and resource acquisition; meet patient/family individualized psycho social needs.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Frequently hearing/listening, clear speech, touching, smelling, walking/running indoors and outdoors, sitting and constantly observing.Demonstrated fine motor skills required for scope of practice.Frequently speak and hear effectively in team and/or one-on-one conversations.Required to lift and carry weights ranging from a few pounds to ten (10) pounds and above.Occasionally required to lift and carry weights scaled at/above 100 pounds or more.
