Job Description

Job Title: Senior PainterReports To: Director of FabricationFLSA Status: Non Exempt

Summary

The Senior Painter will play an integral role at the shop as our go to for all our paint needs.

Previous experience working in theThemed Entertainment, Automotive industry, Experiential or Events industry is a plus but not required.

Detailed Work Activities (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: )
Expert knowledge of various paint systems to include, solvent, latex, acrylic and water based

Comfortable painting multiple surface materials ie: wood, metal, plastic, and foam.

Prep assets by using sanders, planners, bondo, spackle, or other products to insure smooth finish surfaces.

Use Painting Tools to complete the scope of work needed.

Paint Sprayers, HVLP & Airless, Rollers, Brushes, Putty Knife,
Sanders (orbital, belt, finish, blocks), Spray Cans, Stain Pads, etc.
Be able to Color Match/Mix Paints to clients desired color.

Mostly match PMS (Pantone) colors.

Able to order or spec what is needed to complete the task at hand.

EX: How much paint to complete the job, what tools are needed, and notify the Director when supplies are low.

Epert knowledge of different finishing skills and techniques.

Stain solid woods.

Ideal candidates would have (but not required) Faux Painting abilities.

EX: Aging, Distressing, Airbrushing, etc.

Be able to work with the Director on maintaining the Paint Booth and Paint Shop Areas.

Including… changing filters, cleaning the area, disposing of waste, and organizing the Paint Shop.

Previous experience painting in a commercial spray booth.

Skilled at using paint rollers as well as paint brushes.

Attention to details while preparing surfaces for paint.

Understanding the right primers/ sealers to use for each material.

Paint techniques fades / gradients / stippling.

Working under tight deadlines.

Assist with material handling or moving activities.

Understand regulations, policies, or procedures.

Inspect the work area to ensure compliance with safety, quality, or service standards.

Notify others and manager of emergencies, problems, or hazards.

Help maintain the inventory system, and track assets as they circulate.

Driving Company vehicles on occasion.

Ability to work in a shop environment.

Assist with onsite installations and touch up as needed.

Show site support as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tasks
Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment.

Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.

Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.

Inspect equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications.

Refer personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible to higher-level supervisors for resolution.

Proven experience as a Senior painter.
Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them.

Aptitude in using appropriate tools such as spray gun, brushes, caulking gun, power tools etc.
Must have good attention to detail.

Must be able to follow directions.

Must wear proper PPE and follow safety guidelines

5 Years of related experience preferred

HS Diploma/GED required

Possess a valid driver’s license
