Senior Quality Engineer

Aethercomm

This is a Contract position in Anaheim, CA posted February 1, 2022.

Aethercomm designs and manufactures RF and Microwave amplifier modules, subsystems and systems.

The majority of our work is custom.

The reliability and effectiveness of thousands of Aethercomm products has been tested and proven in combat, helping to protect and save the lives of our warfighters.Aethercomm is looking to fill a Senior Quality Engineer position.Scope: The purpose of this standard procedure is to establish and define the functional role, requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and measurements of performance of the Senior Quality Engineer at Aethercomm.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Provide subject matter expertise for Quality Engineering in support of operations.

Mentors Quality Engineers and Quality Staff in the tools, techniques, skills required to accomplish work assignments and provides quality support to all departments as required.

Assist Director of Quality with preparation, presentation, and implementation quality activities by maintaining quality control protocols for Counterfeit Parts Control Plan, FOD/FOE Programs, Traceability Process meets Customer contract requirements, ESD monitoring and verification and ESD handling of parts or units being processed into partially finished or finished products.

Assist Director of Quality by gathering and generating quality status reports for Quarterly Status Management meetings.

Collaborate with Training and Developing Manager with identification of required IPC CIS certification, industry required certification, and/or customer required training for applicable programs, processes, personnel, methods, and/or equipment to assure reliability of product, and collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.

Ensures that quality plans and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.

Manages quality initiatives and drives their implementation for assigned programs and manufacturing areas.

Performs Internal Audits, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for internally produced products & processes.

provide interpretation and clarification to any quality management system documents when necessary.

Leads implementation of solutions to complex and high-level nonconformities and to satisfy key quality issues raised by customers.

Executes quality engineering strategy aimed at reducing nonconformities and ensuring quality standards are in effect and Key Process Metrics are being met.

Work with all levels of management and other personnel.

Participate in material review board as applicable Participates, assists, and supports engineering design review for compliance to the requirements during CDR review meetings and implementation of product engineering and process changes to satisfy QA issues raised by customers Present any known or potential performance non-compliances to the Director of Quality and management.

Maintains SPC Charts and Trend Analysis for NCMRs, DMRs, RMAs, UCRs, FOD/FOE Quarterly Sweep-down audits, and monitors FPY for quality inspections gates and Company’s Key Process Metrics to drive continual improvement.

Support and coordinate with Senior Quality Engineer in supplier quality activities, inspect as needed in receiving, in-process, final inspection processes.

Perform and complete AS9102 FAIR, Internal corrective actions, and failure analysis.

Participate in Customer visits to present first article packages and source inspection products to customers and complete customer surveys, corrective action, as required Understand all customer requirements; ensure they are adequately translated into the manufacturing process, stay current with all customer contracts, specifications, and associated changes.

Interface with the customer and suppliers on quality related issues.

Respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner, provide information within scope of knowledge or refer to an employee with the applicable expertise.

Request for customer deviations and/or waivers.

Ensure all products manufactured and delivered meet the customer requirements for contract.

Ensures company compliance in accordance with AS9100.

The ability to write routine reports, including Corrective Action Requests, waivers or variances and official supplier to customer correspondence when and wherever warranted.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

Understanding of military and commercial contract requirements.

Must be able to read, interpret drawing dimensions per ASME Y14.5.

Experience with ISO/AS9100 QMS.

Experience writing quality assurance procedures and work instructions.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, as well as knowledgeable in elementary statistics.

Familiar with ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Inspection Sampling Plan.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.Computer Skills:Proficient in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams), Internet Software, Database Software, and Epicor MRP System.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
