Sr. Technical Writer

Ledgent Technology

This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted March 30, 2021.

We are looking for a Sr. Technical Writer for a 4 months’ contract for a leading Transportation company in Orange County, CA. This will be 100% remote right now but might need you to be on site in their Anaheim, CA office occasionally. This is a W2 contract position. 

You will be responsible for multiple projects: 

  • Creating a Technical Implementation Plan: company is rolling out new servers, systems, network and software 
  • Creating a Technical Transition plan: how to get Operation team to use the new system, what training needs to be included, etc. 
  • 3rd party docs review:  There are some documents are being written by the 3rd party agency such as their Disaster Recovery Plan, Maintenance Plan, Business Continuity Plan, etc. This person needs to be able to proofread those documents and help with revision, etc. 
  • RFP’s: Get information from prior RFP’s, use these templates to help build new ones.  Be able to extract information from various parties involved to properly write the RFP’s in accordance with the deliverables given

Other responsibilities: 

  • Setting up form of document, meeting with our SME(s) outlining the subject matter, bumping that against the RFP, and Publish outline through Document Control for Agency Review
  • Meeting with SME again as needed to get more details on process, adding flesh to document including diagrams as needed to explain the material
  • Perform internal QA with SME revising document as needed, Call meetings as needed and escalate as needed to ensure progression through document deliverables.
  • Publish Initial deliverable through Document Control to Agency.
  • Perform edits and revisions as needed to complete the documents needed based on Agency feedback.
  • They must be able to quickly understand and communicate through writing the material.
  • They will need to work under pressure as this will feel a bit like a fire drill until we build needed momentum.
