Job Description Summary:

The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for understanding and gathering the requirements of a customer and identifying the products which best satisfy those requirements with and without modifications. In situations where modifications are necessary, the Sr. Systems Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to assist in creating the requirements for the required modifications. S/he is also responsible for supporting development, testing, and deployment of highly customizable systems.

Job Requirements:

Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):

·         Conducts business process reviews to capture customer requirements

·         Facilitates and supports customer meetings as required 

·         Generates accurate and precise technical documentation

·         Demonstrates aptitude in data analysis

·         Collaborates with Product Managers in the US and France for technical specifications

·         Contributes to pre-sale business opportunities by providing technical input as needed

·         Able to adhere fully with internal processes and procedures

·         Commits to the Quality principles of “Customer First, Do it Right the First Time, and I own Quality”

·         Able to pass background checks necessary to work with government agencies

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         7 years of experience in requirements gathering  and technical documentation of systems

·         Must have practical knowledge of all phases of the product/systems development life cycle

·         Must have strong attention to detail

·         Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills

·         Must be able to work autonomously and self-manage tasks in order to meet deadlines

·         Must be effective in communicating issues to multiple levels of an organization

·         Must be proficient in MS OFFICE Products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

·         Must have effective verbal (including presentation) and written communication skills

·         Must have strong decision-making skills; must be able to make sound technical decisions in tense situations

·         Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable leading group discussions 

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

·         Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent levels of work experience

·         Must have a minimum of  prior experience with increasing levels of responsibility, in systems development projects, including

software development, systems design, development management, etc. 

Desired Experience:

·         Experience in Agile methodology for requirements gathering

·         Software Design, Software Documentation, Software development Process, Teamwork, Software Architecture

·         Knowledge of automated fingerprint identification systems, biometrics, or image processing technology

·         Engineering of networked computer systems, data communications, and integrating solutions

·         Database products such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.

·         Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms

 

Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

·         Must be available to travel as needed to support contracts, project teams, and customer presentations; may also include international travel

 

Working Conditions, such as:

·         General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

Must be eligible to work in the U.S
