VP Product Development & Sourcing (Apparel)

OverviewStrategically develop and execute the commercialization and engineering of product that meets the design vision, merchant requirements and company financial goals.

Responsible for leading and managing the internal Product Development, Sourcing and Technical Design Teams responsible for all product development, sourcing, production functions, including but not limited to; Fabric Development, Product Sampling, Product Development, Product Costing, Product Fitting, Order Placement, Production Oversight, Product Quality, Product Delivery, Vendor Selection, Vendor Compliance, Capacity Planning and Product Development and Production Calendars.ResponsibilitiesCore Accountabilities:Essential Duties* Lead and manage the Product Development, Sourcing and Technical Design teams for Mens, Womens and Kids, for all categories including but limited to denim long bottoms, shorts and skirts, knit tops and bottoms, wovens tops and bottoms, sweaters, swimwear, outerwear and internally developed license branded product.* Develop an annual strategic sourcing plan in alignment with the brands overall long range plan (LRP), accountable it hit IMU targets by sourcing applicable average unit cost (AUC) in relation to planned average unit retail (AUR).* Manage the PacSun sourcing matrix including long term vendor partnership, new advantageous sourcing partners through primarily a vendor direct model.* Develop and manage the master Product Development calendar and sub category calendars for seasonal floor sets and chase product.* Establish and adhere to the Product Development and Sourcing budget.

Including but not limited to travel, free-lance technical designers, fit models, temporary staff and fabric & trim liabilities.Non-Essential DutiesIn addition to the performance of the job responsibilities mentioned above, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor on the particular job requirements.Leadership Expectations:* Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality; setting the example for leaders and associates.* Develop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships, including design, planning and merchandising; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.* Develop and manage vendor partnerships.* Experience in overseas travel and working directly with international vendors.* Serve as a PSEB advocate in the industry and marketplace.* Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.* As a manager, serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct.* Ability to balance a strong executive presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.QualificationsEducation/Experience Required:* 4 Year related degree, MBA preferred* Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in product development, production and sourcing.* Technical Design practical knowledge* Minimum 10 years supervisory experience* Travel as necessary for longer period of time* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Ability to manage a diverse team and work cross functionally* Demonstrated managerial experience* Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant changes and shifting prioritiesPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.

The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.* The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.* Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.* Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.* Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.* Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel Required.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.

As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.
