Director of Community Outreach and Engagement
General Summary:
The Director of Community Outreach and Engagement is responsible for engaging and fostering relationships across external stakeholders to advance the visibility of Behavioral Health Works (BHW) at a local, and regional level. In doing so, the role will be instrumental in increasing client and recruitment referrals for commercially funded programs. This individual will coordinate with regional clinical and operational leadership as well as corporate functions to understand the unique needs and clinical offerings of each region and will develop marketing plans to promote the organization to families, potential referral sources and the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Outreach and Engagement:
Take the leadership role to collaboratively develop an annual comprehensive community outreach plan for each region to grow and deepen relationships with referral sources in our communities.
Play a key role in interfacing with community contacts to promote the mission of BHW including phone, email, in-person meetings, organizing and attending consumer or job fairs (with other BHW staff as needed), and representing BHW at events.
Research opportunities in current BHW markets and work closely with the executive team to initiate community awareness; develop a BHW playbook for how to initiate and organize community outreach and engagement strategies in new markets
Establish ongoing communications with key internal and external constituents (hosting town halls, zoom updates), develop communication channels with the BHW marketing team, such as newsletters, and social media, and create content for the BHW website and other outlets.
Through collaboration with regional and executive leadership, identify and prioritize treatment hubs that need additional client referrals and develop targeted strategies in those areas to create referrals and pipelines.
Outcome Based Action and Knowledge Management:
Create a tracking database for community contacts to track communications and follow-up activities and develop internal systems to support the collection and reporting of data and outcomes related to outreach. In doing so, this role will be expected to report on outreach effectiveness and/or opportunities for improvement.
Develop monthly reporting package to executive leadership, outlining outreach goals, metrics, and performance to goals.
Continually evaluate the operation of this function to ensure ongoing effectiveness in generating leads by monitoring ongoing referral volume with key stakeholders
Marketing and Communications:
In this role, the Director of Community and Engagement will help to identify and provide input into marketing materials and channels to support outreach and engagement efforts including web updates, social media posting, written collateral, and promotional products and when needed, organize development of these materials.
Skills Needed:
Organized, can work independently, take initiative, and follow-up
Collaborative approach to work across disciplines and BHW regions
Planning and detail orientation needed to develop achievable plans, deliver results and demonstrate progress through reporting
Understanding of autism, the autism community, and the service delivery model
Execution focused with alignment against consistently tracked metrics / key performance indicators
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Masters degree preferred
Demonstrated expertise in client engagement and communication (written and verbal)
