Senior Accountant

Advertising Specialty Institute

This is a Contract position in Anaheim, CA posted July 15, 2022.

Advertising Specialty Institute is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Accounting Department.

The Senior Accountant must have complete knowledge of the accounting cycle with the responsibility to participate in the month end closing process, completion of assigned balance sheet account analysis for multi companies, participating in the annual budget and forecasting process, monitoring spending, and participating in the preliminary as well as annual audit.

This person must be self
– motivated/disciplined, virtual work experience, able to multi-task, and work under tight deadlines delivering accurate and timely results.

Job Functions and Responsibilities: Experience with a proactive 3.5 day financial close for multiple companies Review and analyze General Ledger Activity Prepare and record timely journal entries in accordance with GAAP Run revenue recognition as well as post JE’s for multiple companies Reconciling Balance Sheet Account analysis for multiple companies to be used as management tools Driving the preliminary and year-end audit working with the Accounting Manager Support audit testing per PBC assignments on a timely basis Sales Tax Rec and posting working with a 3rd party provider for all states and municipalities Financial Statement Preparation with Footnotes for multiple companies Interaction with senior management, multiple departments, and support a staff accountant Participate in annual Budget and Forecasting process Scheduled and Ad Hoc reporting Supporting needs of internal customers Assessing internal controls and risk assessment Continually monitor departmental processes, procedures, and controls to be simplified delivering accurate and actionable information Handles self-funded health insurance accounting and reporting Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA with Public Experience required 3-5 years of relevant accounting work demonstrating system improvements Strong technical skills – Proficient in Microsoft Excel to automate processes Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information required Capacity to see business opportunities through data analysis Knowledge of Capital and Operating Lease a Plus Knowledge of Access, SQL, MAS500, Microsoft Dynamics, Personify, Concur and Spreadsheet Server (BizNet) software a plus All employees are required to work onsite on Wednesdays and managers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
