Insurance & Claims Administrator (Construction)

This is a Contract position in Anaheim, CA posted April 22, 2022.

KHS&S, one of the largest specialty wall and ceiling contractors in the U.S., is looking for an Insurance & Claims Administrator with 3 – 5 years’ experience managing insurance and claims (workers compensation, auto, general liability, etc.). Experience in the construction or engineering industry preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Insurance Support

  • Work with subcontractors and insurance professionals regarding insurance coverage.
  • Monitor insurance cancellation notices received from broker and/or carrier.
  • Maintain and track company insurance renewals.
  • Request vendor insurance certificates.
  • Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure timely enrollment.
  • CCIP/OCIP enrollment based on contract requirements. Review CCIP/OCIP enrollment form for accuracy and completeness. Maintain and track CCIP/OCIP certifications for multiple projects.
  • Request owner insurance certificates for multiple projects.
  • Coordinate, track and maintain subcontractor insurance certificates for multiple projects.
  • Review subcontractor insurance certificates for contractual compliance.
  • Create sample certificates and subcontract insurance exhibit based on contractual requirements.
  • Notify appropriate entities for non-compliance.

2. Claims & Litigation

  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and other relevant claims.
  • Gather and assess claim related information to verify, clarify, document, or determine liability issues, and prepare necessary reports. Maintaining claim documentation.
  • Report claims to appropriate agents, insurance carriers, contractors, consultants, and various outside agencies.
  • Champion the process and coordination of claims, including case management, follow-up, adjuster review, etc. to effective and prompt resolution.
  • Attend claims file review meetings to review and develop action plans to manage cases.
  • Track subpoenas and coordinate the gathering of information required to submit prior to the deadline.
  • Review and take necessary action on incoming claim status updates from counsel and insurance adjusters.
  • Conduct research as may be requested by counsel, consultants and/or experts.
  • Coordinate and scheduling depositions for firm employees.
  • Champion documentation production, research requests, and other discovery requests.
  • Correspond with clients and/or counsel to follow up on claims status.

3 Other Duties

  • Prepare content materials as needed for meetings, presentations, trainings, etc.
  • Produce reports in support of compliance and audits.
  • Track and review billings and invoices.
  • Department filing and scanning, as needed.
  • Assist safety team, as needed.
  • Attend seminars/educational training programs as required.
  • Perform any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified duty that may be needed from time to time.
