Director of Clinical Services – Anaheim Community Hospital

Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health & Anaheim Community Hospital

This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted January 4, 2022.

Plans and coordinates clinical services with those of the medical and administrative systems.

Participates as a member of the hospital’s senior management team in planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions, and operations of the hospital’s clinical services, to include nursing, social services, and adjunctive therapy.

In summary responsible for patient care, management, resource management, and fiscal management.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

* Develops, evaluates, reviews revises and implements policies and procedures; department objectives and goals; standards of care.
* Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination, departmental staffing.

Performs competency evaluations of staff members.
* Interacts professionally and communicates clearly to the administration, social service workers, physicians, nursing staff and other personnel.

Is a resource person for personnel of the facility and for community health care programs.
* Ensures Clinical Services staff receive timely, complete and documented orientation, in-services and continuing education, including weekly supervision of social services staff.
* Directs Clinical Service staff in problem-solving, goal setting and the development, implementation and evaluation of programs/projects.
* Ensures the Clinical Service Departments are in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations and Joint Commission standards.
* Participates in various facility committees as requested.
* Displays good theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and appropriate treatment techniques for each type of therapy.
* Develops, implements and evaluates programs, policies and procedures to ensure that the facility meets the needs of the client population.

* Ensures quality client care that is in compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, facility policies and procedures and local, state and federal law.

* Coordinates the development of policies and procedures, clinical programs.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Licensing:

* Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
* Qualified supervisor by the state of California, preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years experience in acute psychiatric setting and 5 years experience in senior management positions with demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction for multidisciplinary clinical staff.

Competence in budgetary and fiscal planning and execution.

Skilled in strategic planning and program development.

Possesses business acumen and ability to collaborate across departments.

Direct supervisory experience in managing and developing teams.

Knowledgeable about technology and its application.
* Three or more years previous supervisory experience.

Skills and Abilities:

* Attends and participates in management meetings providing input on staffing, resource allocations, staff development, organization programs, goals, objectives.
* Develops sound system policies and procedures.
* Seeks input from HR Director in addressing employee performance or conduct concerns; complies with company policies in enforcing standards of conduct and performance.
* Promptly follows up with referral source information, requests, complaints or concerns.
* Understands and complies with the intent of the Corporate Compliance Program.
* Responds to direct requests or questions from patients or other customers in a timely manner.

Listens carefully to patients and customers, probing to clarify their specific need or request.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

* Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
* Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
* Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.

* Vision: see details of objects at close range.
* Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.

* Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
* Lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.
