Human Resources Generalist

This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted January 2, 2022.

Who We Are:

We are an Adult Day Program agency that was established in 1998, with locations in Orange and Los Angeles County.

We take great pride in providing life-enhancing services to individuals with developmental disabilities through vocational skills development and meaningful interactions with peers and members of the community.

We are currently looking to fill a human resource position in Anaheim, CA.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or 2 or more years of experience in Human Resources.

Basic knowledge of Human Resource laws related to personnel, recruiting, benefits and/or payroll.

Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act with diplomacy & tact at all times.

Must have superior organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task and have good time management skills.

Prioritize work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic work goals.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to edit work for spelling and grammar.

Computer proficient with experience in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner and analyzes information for plan of action.

Must pass a criminal background clearance and have a satisfactory driving record.

Must have TB clearance, health screening and pass a drug test.

Hours from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday

Compensation $23 per hour

10 Vacation days, 3 Sick days and 8 paid Holidays per year

Student Book Reimbursement Program

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the recruitment process which involves posting jobs, attending job fairs, conducting phone/in person screening, assist with interviewing, and ultimately onboarding the employee.

Coach and provide guidance to management on how to develop their teams through the company’s policies and procedures including recommendations on employee performance, disciplinary actions and termination.

Manage employee relations resolving questions and concerns, conducting investigations and making recommendations for effective resolution.

Oversee new employee “on boarding” process including conducting and/or ensuring the new hire orientation was completed, review, verify, and process all new hire paperwork and coordinate benefit enrollment information.

Assist with exit interviews, paperwork and final checks.

Ensure proper implementation of off-boarding protocols including exit data management.

Plan, organize and coordinate development opportunities for the entire team including any mandated training.

Confirm, update and monitor employee credentials.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge of human resources by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks.

Develop program to encourage staff retention and incentives.

Conduct training for staff and management on HR related topics.

Develop policies and procedures, including forms and training manuals/guides that are in line with the company’s strategic plans, federal and state laws.

Update employment handbook and all HR-related forms to stay in compliance.

Coordinate with payroll company and assist in processing payroll, include reviewing the accuracy of timecards, running audit reports.

Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.

Process garnishments and other payroll deductions.

Conduct monthly audit of insurance billing to monitor payroll deductions.

Coordinate with payroll company, insurance company and carriers to resolve discrepancies.

Administer company’s benefits program including, PTO, Holiday, leave of absences, worker’s compensation, and health insurance.

Respond to employee references, verifications of employment, and unemployment claims.

Remain current on all labor laws and update employee handbooks and other documents as necessary.

Investigate employee injuries and ensure all proper documentation is filled out.

Coordinate medical care if necessary.

Develop prevention plans or policies.

Maintain historical human resources data by consistently filing and archiving employee records using manual and electronic retrieval system(s), keeping past and current records.

Maintain and audit personnel files to ensure compliance, including maintaining management personnel files.

Must be flexible in being and be able to drive to multiple sites.

Monitor the Food Program paperwork, including reviewing meal count for claims submissions, client enrollment process and supporting documents, time accounting for employees, and submission of claims.

Assists Administrator and Directors with special research projects and/or special tasks.
