Programmer III

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of applications to satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:Works closely with the programming manager and senior programmers to implement business requirements and processes. Most of this work is related to web-based applications, windows applications, and Report Generator (PowerOn) programming.Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.Focuses on gaining technical expertise and developing business relationships; as well as making decisions or recommendations for solutions which may impact the overall outcome of projects.May include hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance or enhancement of existing applications.OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Review documentation, assist in the coordination of live jobs into production, verbally communicate technical information, and make presentations to groups outside immediate work area.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree with two to four years previous experience required.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proficient knowledge of C#, Microsoft SQL, ASP.NET, WinForms, .NET runtime, XML, and JavaScript.Thorough knowledge of Object-Oriented programming.Working knowledge of older COM and ASP script-based languages, such as Visual Basic and HTML is also highly desired for this position.Knowledge of the Symitar environment and its associated technologies, such as Report Generator (PowerOn), SymForm, and SYMCONNECT are desired but not required.
