Actalent: Autocad Technician

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled AutoCAD Drafter candidate who is passionate to start a career in the Power Utility Industry.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties include preparation of engineering drawings and designs for electrical distribution (Low, Medium and High Voltage) and substation systems under the direction and supervision of more engineers and designers.

In addition candidate responsible for knowledge and execution of the technical aspects anddeliverablesof projects assigned and is a competent engineer who generally understands and can complete all technical requirements of projects of basic to moderate complexity based upon experienceInvolved in several completed projects, understands certain client standards, and completes small projects and some complex tasks, exercising judgment in design criteria, evaluation, and design, subject to review.Based upon experience level, make design and engineering decisions for low to medium projects and may work directly with clientsKnowledge and experience with substation design including One Line Diagrams, General Arrangements Sections, Grounding & Conduit Plans, Foundation Plans, Material Lists (BOM), Relay and Control Systems Schematics and Wiring DiagramsCommunicate with Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)Work under the direction of the Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) and capable of handling basic to moderately complex tasks using their own discretionWork with experienced personnel and Engineers to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to their disciplinePrepare design sketches andredlinedrawingsDevelop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirementsQualificationsProficient with Microsoft OfficeProficientAutoCADStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience with engineering designingAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustSome travel may be requiredPreferred Qualifications:Previous drafting/designing experience in Civil Engineering/Telecommunication/Power Utility preferred About Actalent:Actalent connects passion with purpose.
