IT Field Service Technician


This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted May 31, 2022.

Job Description Training Provided – Entry Level Seeking an individual with motivation to learn about structured cabling, Point of Sale hardware repair, closed circuit television (CCTV) and audio systems. This job will require independent work, once trained, and will involve travel and some night and weekend work, as needed. All training is fully paid and provided by the company. This position will work primarily in retail environments and occasionally in our local repair lab & warehouse, located in Orange County. This is a dynamic role that will cover multiple scopes of work. We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual. All hotels, per diem, flights, vehicle, cell phone, laptop and any specialty tools, are provided. Pay rate is based on experience. All positions have a Medical program option, after the introductory period. There is potential for job advancement within the company for motivate individuals. Key responsibilities ( all job training provided ): Drive to retail environments to assist customers/stores with point of sale issues and other hardware problems. Maintains acceptable levels of customer satisfaction according to defined policies and procedures. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to workstation computers. Interacts with network services, software systems engineering, telecommunications engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify core problems. Ensures problems are escalated and tracked at the proper priority level. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests, and installation of software programs. Interacts in a team setting both locally and remotely, shares information, and assists others with work orders. Interfaces with vendors for trouble calls. Correct hardware issues in the field by addressing the questions and issues regarding the companys network, computer system, and applications. Re stages computer equipment utilizing established procedures and guidelines. Install computer related hardware and software as needed. Support and provide problem determination and resolution on PC software and hardware. Shipping out hardware and receiving items into the warehouse. Maintain catalog, software and hardware inventory. Document service activities through the ticketing system. Required Qualifications : Ability to travel (as needed) Available to work nights, weekends & holidays (as needed) Standard schedule will be Monday Friday, with approximately one on-call weekend per month Must have a clean driving record, as you will be driving a company vehicle Excellent detail orientation and time management skills. Strong service orientation and customer service attitude. Computer/Technical Aptitude Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to complete designated amount of work in a specified time frame (e.g., quality jobs per day), adjusting work assignments or schedules to meet changing work-related priorities or demands. Ability to work well with others to achieve common goals and to foster a cooperative climate, as well as to work independently in the field with little supervision. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs Ability to climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders or scissor lifts) exceeding 18 feet on occasion. Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes). Preferred Experience ( not required ): Computer desktop experience. Familiar with MS Office suite, imaging platforms, antivirus and encryption software Ability to read, review, interpret and understand technical documents (e.g., schematics, drawings, blueprints, layouts). Ability to demonstrate knowledge of computer operating systems (i.e., MS 98SE, 2000, XP and above). Experience cabling various electronic components (e.g., modems, routers, TVs, stereo systems and home entertainment systems). Experience working with CAT5e and COAX wiring. Working knowledge of hand and power tools. Working knowledge of test equipment
