Overview:The paint helper is an hourly wage position for auto body collision repair in Southern California Market.
The paint helper must ensure quality in protection of vehicle and paint application while providing a timely delivery to meet repair target dates.Responsibilities:Inspect quality of repairs, received by the Body Department before painting begins.Ensures safe and organized vehicle flow in and out for the Paint departmentAdhere to paint production schedule as designated by Paint ManagerCapable of operating Spray Booth & other paint related equipmentAbility to mask and apply protection for a vehicle appropriately.Knowledgeable in cleaning and sand prepping the area for spraying.Accurately selects paint materials and mixes paint accurately to color code.Ability to spot paint accurately, seeing details at a close range and judging colors accurately.Skilled in applying paint that is corrosion resistant and creates a smooth, consistent finish.Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble painting equipmentFinal Paint Quality Inspection performed before released to detailReturn Spray Booth and Mix Room to Pre-Paint ConditionEnsures a clean and safe work area, utilizing PPE equipment effectively, hazardous waste compliance is followed.Bring shortages of supplies to the attention of the Paint Manager and Gate Keeper for replenishmentAdhere to company standard for Nuventory access and controls via proper Gate Keeper allocation.
Paint Dept should not access locked paint supply closet.Qualifications:Previous Auto Body experience is not mandatory but is preferred.
Some type of automotive experience is necessary.Certifications a plusThe ability to read and follow instructions precisely and to work independently as well as with others in an organized manner is essential.The ability to produce within a specified timeframe and/or deadline and be capable of operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven team environment.Job Boards: IND3
