HELOC Processor I-$1000 Sign On Incentive- (Hybrid)

This is a Contract position in Anaheim, CA posted July 14, 2022.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) Processor I will assist the HELOC team with the processing of a HELOC application. Assists in the fulfillment of member home equity line/loan requests through the timely ordering, receipt, and completion of required documentation. Obtains necessary information (i.e., loan applications, credit documents, appraisals, etc.) to process and complete home equity loan files. Works with members, and third-party real estate vendors to obtain and verify the accuracy of all information required to submit loan applications for decision-making.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Check loan applications for complete information and prepare loan files.Verify the setup of new loan files in the Loan Origination System, entering appropriate information. Prepare disclosures, rate locks, verifications and all necessary credit and appraisal documents.Confirm debt-to-income, loan-to-value, and other ratios to be used for loan review.Order and follow-up on home equity services (i.e., AVM or Appraisal, Title, etc.).Keep the Loan Origination System updated as loan is processed.Communicate regularly with members and provide periodic status updates of their loan application and follow up with them for required information.Assure that member files are complete and in compliance with regulation agencies and internal policies.Ensure customer privacy, security of files and appropriate staff access.Continue to develop knowledge in HELOC lending policies, guidelines and systems to ensure turn times are met.Apply team and department “Best Practices” and continually work for process and service improvements.Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma required. B.A/B.S. degree in related field preferred.Knowledge of real estate and home equity lending, preferred.Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing the HELOC loan process, including:Homeowners Protection Act (HPA)Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA)Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (as related to information privacy)Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA)Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA)Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act)Must have, or following employment with Wescom at Wescom’s expense, attain and maintain an active NMLS registration and NMLS ID.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to provide excellent member service throughout the HELOC process.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Knowledge of Credit Union operations and ability to integrate and communicate critical information to members, vendors, and other team members.Excellent records and file management skills.Ability to define and resolve problems.COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Mortgage Cadence, Akcelerant/Tememons and Symitar, preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is also desirable.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as computing percentages, ratios and fractions, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
