POSITION SUMMARY:A Closer II primary role and responsibilities will typically encompass one of the two positions listed below:Preparing and Drawing Closing Documents – responsible for analyzing and preparing the Closing Disclosure (CD) and complete Closing Document package for a variety of loan products and closing scenarios. This positions requires high analytic skills, experience and knowledge with all mortgage lending regulatory requirements, the ability to work with a high-volume workload in a fast-pace environment while meeting numerous deadlines. This position works closely with third-party escrow, title/attorney and must have impeccable written and verbal communication skills. This position must have the ability to work within two lending channels, Wescom and the CMD Partner Channel, while meeting a variety of needs.ORFunding Mortgage Loan Transactions – responsible for analyzing closing conditions and reviewing final signed loan documents for accuracy and completeness. Must issue closing funds to closing agents, a working knowledge of general ledger reconciliation, issuing wires, balancing a variety of loan products and loans within different channels, and preparing and delivering funding packages to the Loan Servicing division. Funding packages require analytical and mathematical skills to ensure appropriate booking of the loan. This position must have the ability to work with a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment while meeting numerous deadlines. This position works closely with third-party escrow, title and attorney offices and must have impeccable written and verbal communication skills. This position must have the ability to work within two lending channels, Wescom and the CMD Partner Channel, while meeting a variety of needs. NOTE: In an emergent situation an individual who has a primary responsibility in one of the functional areas listed above may be assigned to assist in the other functional area as needed.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:Preparing and Drawing Closing Documents:Communicate and coordinate with title, escrow, attorneys and any additional third-parties to facilitate the signing and notary services for a mortgage loan closing.Manage a high-volume pipeline of loans ready for closing, while maintaining member service and timely scheduling.Must understand and meet underwriting closing conditions and ensure Lender Closing Instructions are met and fulfill the commitment of the loan.Must possess working knowledge of RESPA and TRID regulation and ensure all Closing Disclosures are compliant within all federal and state laws and regulations.Perform all applicable forms of verification of employment.Complete all company checklists and required fields within the LOS system to ensure file data integrity and prepare the file for the funding and post-closing steps.Must possess high analytical skills and attention to detail with fee amounts, third party vendors, property information, final vesting and vesting changes, title requirements, and understand the final loan application data and ensure accuracy, completion and timeliness of all loan documents.Perform all other related duties as assigned.Funding Mortgage Loan Transactions:Manage a high volume of incoming executed loan closing packages; excellent time management and organization skills are a must.Review closing documents for accuracy, completeness and adherence with all underwriting conditions, third-party conditions and ensure all company policies & procedures, investor requirements and regulations are met. High analytical skills are required to review large volumes of data.Review the mathematical side of the loan closing; ensure loan amounts, loan payoffs, fees, interest rate, discount points, rebates, applicable refunds/credits, and cash needed for closing are accurately reconciled.Reconcile final figures with applicable third-parties and calculate the wire disbursements. Ensure all requirements are met prior to funding disbursement.Book loans on the company accounting system, prepare and upload the loan servicing packet within the required timeframe.Reconcile general ledgers and share accounts.Complete all company checklists and required fields within the LOS system to ensure file data integrity and prepare the file for post-closing and servicing. Perform all other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:High school diploma required. B.A / B.S. degree in related field preferred.Mortgage Lending experience required. Must be familiar with out of state lending.Ability to meet the procedures and needs of two lending channels; Wescom Credit Union and the CMD Partner Channel. Working with the CMD Partner Channel requires meeting various needs and assisting with training and customized requirements. Substantial working knowledge of residential mortgage lending, including comprehensive working knowledge of closing documents and title and escrow practices. General knowledge of the entire mortgage lending industry.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Engages in team meetings, self-studies, and completes internal/external training requirements.Provide excellent member service throughout the mortgage loan process.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Knowledge of Credit Union operations and ability to integrate and communicate critical information to members, vendors, and other team members.Ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to real estate lending staff.Self-manage, strong time management and organization skills, innovate and team oriented.Meet individual and/or department goals and standards.Committed to Wescom’s Mission and Vision Statements and Core Values.COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Mortgage Cadence or similar LOS system, Episys, and FICS systems preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is also desirable.Experience with mortgage lending vendor applications (verification sites, compliance sites, regulatory sites, secondary market/investor sites)MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
