Job Description Landscape Construction Project Engineer Marina Landscape, Inc. is looking to hire a highly-motivated individual for the Landscape Construction Project Engineer position at our Southern California Branch. This non-exempt job classification is responsible for assisting project managers in all aspects of individual projects from award bid through completion to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency, perform related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The examples of functions listed in this job description are representative, but not necessarily exhaustive, of any one position in this job classification. Reviews plans and specifications to become familiar with the project; supports multiple phases (e.g., submittals, material sample procurement, managing documents, assisting in change order preparation, estimate take-off data, requests for quotations, maintaining project logs, project close out documents) of various sized projects; maintains submittal log; prepares project, Superintendent, and Foreman job books; attends pre-construction meetings; prepares assembly production rates; assists Project Manager in removing obstacles that may prevent successful project completion (e.g., auditing extra work ticket log, procurement of certificates of compliance, material quotations); gets submittal approved within time allotted; reviews as-builts for legibility; obtains soil samples; submits soil samples to testing laboratory with associated specification; conducts follow-up on test results; prepares submittal packages for Project Manager review and re-submittal as required; compiles plant material photographs as required; gathers material samples; is responsible for contract close-out items (e.g., irrigation as-builts, controller charts, warranty letters, spare parts, and operation and maintenance manuals); complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards; understands the relationship between job quality and customer service, satisfaction, and retention; provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, vendors, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner. Working Conditions: Work is predominately in an office environment with associated noise, space, and computer screen exposure. Occasional travel to client locations, job sites, and meetings is expected as part of this position. Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation and/or drug test. Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of 90 days.
