Job Description for a Dietz & Watson Sales Merchandiser
The Dietz & Watson Sales Merchandisers’ main job function is to optimize sales and create brand awareness in a retail deli setting.
A Sales Merchandiser should have the knowledge of our products as it relates to the industry.
The responsibilities of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser are listed below but not limited to:
Consistently provide coverage to all stores within assigned territory based on store ranking
Make regular store visits documenting all concerns/problems (i.e.
shortages, equipment problems, ordering issues, etc.) and addressing these concerns in a timely manner
Build and maintain customer relationships by displaying high-level customer service techniques to deli managers, employees, and store customers
Possess the knowledge and ability to both create and market Dietz & Watson programs
Training of all new store deli hires on the merits of Dietz & Watson and refresh training and best practices when needed
Communicate any information deemed necessary to Merchandiser Manager (i.e.
grand openings, store closing, etc.)
Communicate D&W product knowledge and understand industry competition
Get to know customer base and understand motivation and sales drivers
Safely operate a deli slicer
Set up deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product
Assemble necessary equipment to use in the setting of cases
Build and maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)
Check date codes and out-of-stocks
Needs to be a self-starter, work in a team environment and or with little or no supervision
Complete all reports as necessary including store surveys
Utilizing the monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution
Monitor and explore opportunities for sales growth w/Merchandiser Manager
Work with management to gage/forecast product ordering needs/inventory levels
Understand and execute schematics/planograms
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
Perform special projects outside of assigned territory
