Account Services Representative I

This is a Full-time position in Anaheim, CA posted May 30, 2022.

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate, monitor, and process transactions and inquiries related to Automated Clearing House (ACH), Real Time Payments (RTP), and Checks as assigned to individual. Provide member and internal team member support for deposits and payments, including SnapDeposits, ACH activity, and checks. In addition, provide support for miscellaneous manual and automated mail deposits and payments, Federal Reserve Bank adjustments, returned deposits, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) processing, stop payments, and posting exceptions. Maintain records and tracking for tasks assigned. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Research, process, and balance exceptions related to automated ACH and Check posting jobs. Review and release Mobile Remote Deposited Checks (SnapDeposit). Respond to a variety of telephone and written inquiries, research issues, and provide information to internal and external parties. Review and research entries related to General Ledger(s) assigned to or posted by the department. Ensure entries are cleared in a timely manner. Research and clear outstanding entries. Communicate Credit Union policies, products and services to members, other financial institutions, and vendors as necessary. Handle routine processing of Journals, error resolution and other appropriate source documents as they relate to specific assignment. Distribute daily work to departments/branch operations, order office supplies for the department, and open, distribute, and process mail. Assist with cross-training programs and updates to standard operating procedures documentation. Provide back-up support to all positions within the department and complete special projects as assigned. Interacts with Federal Reserve Bank, Banks and Credit Unions, and other departments including Accounting, Item Processing, Deposit Operations, and other departments to resolve issues and create processing efficiencies. Maintain continuing education to ensure operating and Credit Union policies are current and conform to government regulations and third party regulations. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High School education required. Previous branch banking and/or back office banking experience preferred. Knowledge of ACH Rules and processing, and check payment principles desired. Clerical/accounting experience, 10 key/finger dexterity, general business writing skills, effective communication skills, both written and oral, good organizational skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced multi-deadline environment, and professional conduct and appearance. COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Fed Line, Symitar, Wescom Intranet and the Internet. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may qualify as Remote or Hybrid with a home base at one of Wescoms offices. The Remote or Hybrid status may be discontinued by Wescom in its sole discretion at any time and for any reason or no reason, with or without notice by Wescom or Employee.
