POSITION SUMMARY:The Director, Training and Talent Development provides leadership and direction to Wescom University who provide ongoing training, product expertise throughout the organization.Responsible for the leadership and daily management of Wescom University and aligning the objectives of the functions with the business goals, strategic plan and vision of the organization.Identifies, designs, and develops training and organizational strategies and programs that support organizational goals such as loan production, service and culture training and overall product penetration.Responsible for the onboarding of new hires including integrating new hires into the Wescom culture.Works closely with Risk Management and Compliance to ensure the eLearning system supports required compliance training for the entire organization.Develops and maintains effective, collaborative and productive relationships with branch management, and other internal departments such as Consumer Lending, Marketing, Member Services, Real Estate Lending, Wescom Insurance Services (WIS) and Wescom Financial Services (WFS) to enhance products, streamline processes and promote an overall ease of doing business.Frequently connects and holds meetings with branches and back office managers to ensure Wescom University is adequately supporting the organizations’ training needs.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:Directs the evaluation, design, planning and implementation of corporate training programs including Wescom Way, product knowledge training, needs-driven selling skills, and policies, and procedures.Directs the design, planning and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies and procedures. Contributes to Wescom growth by leading and empowering staff to direct activities that enhance the promotion of needs-based sales and service training.Defines and develops change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs that support the growth of Wescom Leadership through training programs.Works with management to ensure timely understanding of current and future workforce needs.Consults on new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs.Contributes to organizational efforts in process improvement, product enhancement with a focus on the ease of doing business.Manages Training Team and provides leadership for unit goal setting, program evaluation, establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and training team development and coaching.Meets regularly with members of Management Team to identify needs and gather feedback.COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION:Member of Management Team: joins with all management members to review and address member service delivery and related functions, operational policies, employee issues, quality control problems, planning items and other Wescom activities. The position is eligible for the Credit Union’s Management Team Incentive Program.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree and five or more years’ in management experience in a financial institution is preferred.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, communication skills, both written and oral, professional conduct and appearance, a heightened orientation to detail, excellent organizational skills, work in a swiftly changing environment, work well with others and be a team player who is creative and goal-oriented.Maintains proficient knowledge of products and services as well as policies and procedures for self and staff.Considerable knowledge of current trends and concepts and practices and procedures of the fields of organizational development/effectiveness and adult training. Considerable knowledge of managerial principles, techniques and practices.Advanced communication skills including written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.Knowledge of financial institution operations is desired.COMPUTER SKILLS:Maintains proficiency in technology applications including the operating system and ancillary systems. Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
